Hady Salloum
Maritime Advisor
Hady Salloum is a leader in homeland security technology development, with more than 35 years of experience in program management, systems engineering, and applied research. He currently serves as Director of the Maritime Security Center (MSC), a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Center of Excellence. At MSC, he oversees research, education, and technology transition efforts focused on enhancing maritime security and resiliency. His work involves building partnerships with academia, government, and industry to address critical security challenges.
Before joining MSC, Mr. Salloum worked at Bell Communications Research (Bellcore) and Telcordia Technologies, where he held technical and management positions in the areas of operations support systems, network engineering, and information assurance. He managed projects for the U.S. Department of Defense, DHS, and other federal agencies. His efforts included developing advanced communications technologies, cybersecurity systems, and decision-support tools.
Mr. Salloum has extensive experience in guiding multidisciplinary research teams and fostering collaboration between scientists, engineers, and policymakers. He has led initiatives in technology transfer, training, and workforce development to strengthen national security capabilities. He is particularly focused on applying emerging technologies to practical solutions in homeland security operations.
He earned his Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the City College of New York. He has authored technical papers and presentations in areas such as maritime domain awareness, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection. His professional contributions have been recognized by DHS and other agencies for advancing security innovation and collaboration.
